Mr. Miller joined the Carlson Law Group, Inc. in June 2008 after 35 years of practice as a trial lawyer. In his 35 years of trial practice, Mr. Miller has tried well over 100 cases to verdict, decision or award, in a range of cases from Capital Murder to Intellectual Property litigation to his current specialty. Mr. Miller’s current practices focuses exclusively on real estate agent and broker errors and omissions defense, which to date has a successful trial defense rate of 100% and a favorable settlement rate of well over 95%. Having served as the Chairman of Litigation Groups of three Southern California boutique law firms, Mr. Miller’s vast experience of trying cases to verdict, decision or award serves his current clients with the depth, insight and tenacity which can only be obtained through years in the courtroom.

Mr. Miller obtained his undergraduate degree at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri in 1966, after which he obtained a Masters of Business Administration from Oklahoma State University. After serving as an officer in the United States Army (Air Defense Artillery) during the turbulent sixties, Mr. Miller returned to his native state to obtain a Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Oklahoma, School of Law in 1973. After practicing law for 16 years with his own firm in Norman, Oklahoma, Mr. Miller relocated to Southern California, where he continued his trial work, with primary emphasis in commercial, business, bankruptcy and real estate litigation.

Mr. Miller is admitted to practice before all courts in California and Oklahoma, U. S. District Courts of the Central and Southern Districts of California and the Western District of Oklahoma, the United States Courts of Appeal, Ninth and Tenth Circuits and the United States Supreme Court. Noted among Mr. Miller’s professional accomplishments are published opinions in the cases of Arlene Milrot, et al. v. Stamper Medial Clinic, et al. (1996) 44 Cal.App.4th 185, D’Marco v. Chaney (1995) 31 Cal.App.4th 1812 and McClellan v. Northridge Park Townhome Owners Assoc. (2001) 89 Cal.App.4th 746, a case extensively cited in alter ego litigation in Southern California.

Mr. Miller has also distinguished himself as serving as President of the Cleveland County Bar Association, where he implemented a Law Day Program integrated with the public schools of Norman, Oklahoma, which has continued to the present time. In 1976, Mr. Miller was elected as Outstanding Young Lawyer of Oklahoma, after which he assumed the Chairmanship of the Young Lawyers Division of the Oklahoma State Bar. In 1980, Mr. Miller represented the Oklahoma Bar Association as a delegate to the American Bar Association, the youngest attorney in the history of the association’s existence to do so. Mr. Miller’s professional memberships include the California, Oklahoma, Los Angeles County and American Bar Associations.
