Prior to attending college, Mr. Uss served with distinction for four years as a non-commissioned officer in the United States Navy as an aviation electronics technician.
Mr. Uss completed his undergraduates studies at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. He was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in History with an emphasis in Near East Relations in 2002. Mr. Uss had the distinction of receiving the Bellarmine College Department Award of Excellence for Academic Achievement.
Prior to entering law school, Mr. Uss was an adjuster for a National Casualty Insurance carrier and was responsible for handling and negotiating property damage losses. Mr. Uss also was a licensed real estate salesperson, focusing on residential and multi-unit commercial sales.
Mr. Uss attended the University of West Los Angeles School of Law and was a semifinalist in the Frank N. Darras Disability Law Moot Court Competition. During his studies, Mr. Uss also completed an internship with a non-profit organization affiliated with the Environmental Protection Authority and co-authored a thesis on land use and pollution abatement.
Following his graduation, Mr. Uss began a private practice in Westlake Village, California, focusing on construction defect and general contractor defense. Mr. Uss also serves as a volunteer attorney scorer for the Ventura County High School Mock Trial Competition.
Since joining Carlson Law Group in January 2015, Mr. Uss has been focused on the defense of real estate licenses and escrow companies.
